Meet Venita

Peer Support Facilitator & Community Support Provider

Hi I’m Venita,

I'm someone who understands what it feels like to have to figure things out on your own.

Before any title or education, I was navigating life experiences that required resilience, adaptability, and learning how to read people, situations, and environments quickly. Those experiences shaped how I see the world—and how I support others today. I understand what it feels like to be overwhelmed, to feel alone in your experiences, and to try to figure everything out while still showing up for life.

My Path

Over time, I realized that the way I naturally connected with people—listening without judgment, helping others make sense of what they were going through, and offering grounded support—was something meaningful.

That realization led me to formalize my skills by completing my Social Service Worker diploma at Georgian College. I continue to expand my knowledge as I work toward my Bachelor of Social Work.

But more importantly, I’ve combined that education with real-life understanding of what people actually go through.

How I Show Up
I’m not here to analyze you or tell you what’s wrong.

I’m here to sit with you, understand where you’re coming from, and help you make sense of what you’re experiencing in a way that feels real and manageable.

People often come to me when they’re:

  • Feeling overwhelmed or stuck

  • Navigating life changes

  • Struggling with self-worth or confidence

  • Trying to understand patterns in their life

You don’t need to have the “right words” to be understood here.

What You Can Expect

  • A calm, grounded presence

  • Honest, supportive conversations

  • Practical ways to move forward

  • A space where you are met without judgment

I don’t believe people need to be “fixed.”
I believe people need to feel understood, supported, and given space to grow.

Why This Work Matters to Me

This work is personal.

Not because I have all the answers—but because I know what it feels like to need support that actually feels human, not clinical or disconnected.

Being able to offer that kind of space to others is something I don’t take lightly.

My Experience & Training

Education

Education

I am a Registered Social Service Worker (RSSW) in Ontario, with formal education in social services, community support, and mental health–informed practice. My training is supported by ongoing professional development focused on trauma awareness, boundaries, communication, and emotional regulation.

Certificate

Certificates

My work is informed by additional training in peer support, suicide awareness and intervention, crisis response, facilitation, and life-skills education. These certifications support safe, ethical, and grounded support — while keeping my services clearly non-clinical.

Specialization

Specialization

I specialize in peer-based support for individuals navigating life transitions, burnout, emotional overwhelm, boundary challenges, and identity shifts. My work focuses on helping people reconnect with themselves, build confidence, and develop practical tools for everyday life.

What's in It for You?

You don’t have to have everything figured out to be here.
